Design & Engineering

Be the person with a plan.

Nothing really gets done properly in this world without proper planning first. It takes vision and a great concept to bring something to life. That’s what students in our design and engineering programs know, and they work to bring the conceptual to reality.

You are someone who can look at a clean sheet of paper, a blank screen or a raw material and imagine the possibilities. You see how lines and numbers and formulas can transform into buildings, machines, furniture and gardens. You know that the combination of bright ideas and good labor produces something you can be proud of.

SUNY Morrisville has programs in architectural studies & design, mechanical engineering technology, residential construction and wood products technology, all designed to help you create an education and a career that is a perfect fit.

For people who like to imagine and then create, SUNY Morrisville provides the perfect playground. With experienced faculty to teach you the technology and guide your efforts, you will explore virtual spaces before constructing actual items and models of spaces.

The future is what you make of it. Your choice of SUNY Morrisville will help you plot a path to success.

This is the house that you build. Through the SUNY Morrisville Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) degree program in residential construction, you will begin literally building your future.
Fall 2023-Wood Products and Processes Class
Build a strong foundation. Wood technologists experiment to find the most efficient ways of converting forest resources into useful products for consumers. They explore the physical, biological, and chemical properties of wood and the methods used in growing, processing, and using it.
