Phase 1: Research and Focus Sessions (August - January)
From August through January, the Strategic Planning Steering committee will conduct an exhaustive review of SUNY Morrisville’s current standing through a series of four identified focus areas. The review will include an in depth analysis of Morrisville’s performance using internal and external data sources as well as subjective information collected from faculty, staff, and students during (and after) focus sessions.
Phase 2: Vision, Mission, Values and Goals (February - May)
Using the information learned throughout the research and focus sessions, the newly formed Strategic Planning Standing Committee will update the four primary elements of the Strategic Plan. This includes the values commonly shared by the Morrisville community, a mission statement that depicts Morrisville’s intended purpose, a vision statement that identifies what Morrisville intends to become, and strategic plan goals to guide Morrisville toward that shared vision.
Phase 3: Priorities, Strategies, and Action Plans (May - October)
Using the Strategic Plan’s Mission and Goals as a guide, Morrisville will develop strategic priories that align institutional strengths with external opportunities. Each priority will have cascading strategies and action plans to help guide budget and resource allocation as well as unit plan development.
