Tutoring Center

The mission of the Tutoring Center is to provide learning assistance that supports students’ academic success, independence, and confidence. We help students learn how to learn so they can achieve their academic goals.

The Tutoring Center is in the center of the Morrisville Campus in the back left corner of the main level of Butcher Library. In addition to providing tutoring, the Tutoring Center also offers student workshops called Student Success Seminars (SSS). There is currently no out-of-pocket charge to utilize the Tutoring Center’s resources.

The Tutoring Center offers campus-based tutoring both by appointment and on a drop-in basis. Students can book tutoring appointments for themselves using Starfish. Instructions on how to do this are linked to the Tutoring Schedule webpage. The Tutoring Schedule is organized alphabetically by subjects taught for the semester. Tutors are then listed under those subjects with the particular course numbers they tutor. Students who cannot find a tutor or a time to meet with a tutor for their course after checking the Tutoring Schedule and Starfish should submit a Tutor Request Form.

Tutoring is available both face-to-face and virtually/online. Tutoring sessions may be one-to-one or in small groups of 2-4 students working on the same course.

The Tutoring Center also offers NightOWL Online Tutoring, which is available 7 p.m.-midnight, Sundays through Thursdays, on a drop-in basis. All NightOWL tutoring sessions are one-to-one. NightOWL tutors are available to help with accounting, biology, chemistry, economics, math, nursing & med math, physics, psychology, and writing assignments for any course (except foreign language courses).

The Tutoring Center also manages Morrisville’s subscription to Grammarly Premium. All students enrolled at the college are encouraged to sign up for and utilize this software.
