The Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse team collected their fifth straight victory Friday afternoon, posting a convincing 18-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) decision over visiting Lancaster Bible College on Drake Field in Morrisville. The Mustangs remain untouched in conference play with a 5-0 record, improving their overall record to 6-5. The Chargers fall to 2-11 overall, 1-5 in NEAC action. Whitney Heise and Nicole Valinteno posted the lone Lancaster Bible tallies on the day, while Cheyenne Benson posted the loss in net, turning away 12.

The Mustangs, who are the defending North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) champions, and have their eyes set on another title this season, improve to 3-5 overall, 2-0 in NEAC play.
Visiting Morrisville State College softball collected their first win of the 2013 season, topping host Wells College 7-3 in the first of Sunday’s doubleheader action, before falling 12-4 in the second. Morrisville State (1-9, 1-3 NEAC) heads into their next double Wednesday at Cazenovia. Three Mustangs went 2-for-4 from the plate in the first of the day’s action, including Tori Schultz (Camden, N.Y.) who posted a double in the opening inning, driving in two runs, as Morrisville State took an early 3-0 lead after one.

The Mustangs drop to 0-8 overall on the season, 0-2 in conference play, while the Wildcats improve to 8-2, 2-0 overall in the NEAC. In the first of the day’s action, Krista Pristera (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Nicolette Kennedy (Yonkers, N.Y.) each went 1-for-2 from the plate and posted one run apiece, to lead SUNYIT from the plate. Kennedy’s hit was a triple in the top of the seventh inning.
Morrisville State College men’s lacrosse posted their second straight North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory, cruising to a 18-5 win over host Wells College Saturday afternoon in Aurora. The win pulls the Mustangs to 3-5 overall, 3-1 in NEAC play. Wells continues to look for their first win and drop to 0-7 overall, 0-3 in the conference. Ten different Mustangs posted scores on the day, including John Sherlock (Tully, N.Y.) and AJ Donoghue (Rochester, N.Y.) who added four apiece to lead the Mustangs in goal scoring.
