Take the next step in your nursing career.
We are very excited that the SUNY Morrisville Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Nursing degree program is now available in an online format! The nursing courses in this program are taught by doctoral-prepared faculty with several years’ experience in nursing and nursing education. Our courses are offered in a full semester format to allow for a more relaxed curricular pace. Graduates from the SUNY Morrisville Nursing A.A.S. degree program will not need to reapply to continue to the Nursing B.S. degree program.
We are proud that our Nursing B.S. degree students who meet the requirements are eligible for membership in the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society, Chi Tau at-Large Chapter.
As a skilled registered nurse, you can enhance your ability to care for others and advance professionally in leadership positions through the SUNY Morrisville B.S. degree in nursing.
The program provides RNs the opportunity to enhance their nursing practice in leadership, evidence-based practice, nursing informatics, health policy, and professionalism.
Keeping pace with the evolving role of nurses in health care, you will explore factors of nursing that will broaden the concepts of who you are and how you practice.
Your curriculum will integrate knowledge, theory and research, with courses emphasizing public, family and community nursing, advanced health assessment, health promotion, nursing theory, ethics, organizational communications, systems theory, leadership and management.
You will engage in a service-learning activity in select nursing courses to combine formal learning with reflection to strengthen a community.
Upon completion of the program, you’ll be prepared to serve individuals, communities, and populations in diverse and rapidly changing health care environments as a leader, scholar and advocate for nursing.
As a graduate, you will be eligible to transfer to a master’s level program to specialize as a clinical nurse specialist, nurse anesthetist, nurse midwife, nurse practitioner, administrator or nurse educator. You will also be eligible for graduate programs in informatics and business and health care administration.
To improve the nursing profession, the "BSN in 10 Law" was formally signed by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in December 2017. This law requires RN’s to have obtained at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 10 years of their initial licensure to continue practicing. The increased health care demands coupled with the advancements in technology have enhanced the need for advanced practiced nurses.
Recent graduates from our Nursing A.A.S. program can complete our Intent to Enroll form for a seamless transition into the Nursing B.S. degree program.
